Background of Principals

Martin Legant:

Mr. Legant has a management science degree from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. He is an experienced businessman/entrepreneur having worked in engineering positions for General Motors in California, as a CEO of a multi-unit, multi-market Arby’s chain and as an owner/managing partner of Utah Natural Growers a specialty agricultural business in Utah. Through hands on experience he has gained an in-depth understanding of the pitfalls and opportunities inherent in the management of owner operated businesses. He has managed, secured financing for, expanded and sold small and medium size companies. He understands the disciplines of maintaining bottom line profitability in a business as well as how to dispose of a company for a maximum return when profit targets are not achievable.

Bernard Hanley:

Mr. Hanley has undergraduate and graduate degrees in business from Fordham and Columbia University in NYC. He has over 30 years of financial experience in both domestic and international businesses. He has held senior financial positions as Controller, Vice President of Finance, and Chief Financial Officer in Fortune 500 and other public corporations in such diverse industries as consumer products (Pepsi-Cola and Max Factor), chemicals (Crompton & Knowles) and dairy products (Dairy Holdings-Pet Dairies). He has operated in start-up, bankrupt, and highly efficient and profitable environments with in depth exposure and hands on experience in numerous divestitures due to bankruptcy and down-sizing as well as numerous acquisitions structured to increase market share or improve operating efficiencies.

Otis Scott:

Mr. Scott is a CPA with an undergraduate degree in accounting from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. As a Manager in Ernst& Young and CEO of the Johnson City Federal Credit Union he gained extensive experience in several industries ranging from consumer products, manufacturing and transportation to mining, banks, credit unions and savings and loan associations. Working as a Director in the Treasurers Department of RJR Nabisco, he developed an in-depth knowledge of international financing, funds flow and hedging operations. As Treasurer of Dairy Holdings he designed and implemented a cash mobilization system insuring liquidity for the corporation during its initial stages of bankruptcy. He is also well versed in financial modeling particularly in the area of forecasting risk and comparative financial analysis as it pertains to acquisitions and divestitures.
